Acceleration examines velocity as both visual and structural principle. The interaction of acrylic and oil creates a dialogue between immediacy and resistance, while fragmented forms and exposed layers emphasize instability, process, and perceptual shift.
Description
Acceleration explores movement and tension through a dynamic interplay of acrylic and oil. Swift acrylic gestures establish momentum, while oil layers add weight and resistance, slowing and disrupting the flow.
Fragmented forms—suggestive of facial elements—appear and dissolve within the composition, reinforcing a sense of transition rather than fixed identity. Angular shapes and directional strokes create propulsion, while a restrained palette of greys, yellows, blues, and muted reds introduces emotional contrast.
Texture and process remain visible through scraped surfaces and exposed underlayers, positioning acceleration not only as physical speed but as psychological pressure. At 100 × 70 cm, the work invites close viewing, where motion becomes both its subject and method.
